Algol was probably trapped within the Astral Chaos when he was “killed” and wandered it for thousands of years, until he was let out in IV. Ivy’s number one goal right now is the utter destruction of the Astral Chaos. If Algol’s life force is tied to that place, then if it goes, he goes. Not the way a proud warrior like Algol would want to go if he had a chance.
